Cinco de Mayo celebration reaches out to all of Atlanta

Posted April 30, 2008 * Comments(0)

ATLANTA: Leading up to the second-annual Fiesta Atlanta, advertising and PR firm Lanza Group is reaching out to the entire city in order to promote diversity. Every night from April 28 to May 4, events around the city will target different neighborhoods and communities and encourage them to come to the Cinco de Mayo celebration. Events include salsa dancing, a comedy show, and a silent auction, as well as a performance by Fiesta Atlanta’s headliner, Grammy-winner Albita, at the Hard Rock Café.

Lanza Group’s president, Ralph Herrera, came up with the idea for Fiesta Atlanta to bring together the Hispanic community, but for the second year, the team decided to celebrate diversity and show what Atlanta has to offer, said Caroline Elizabeth Peters, press relations for Lanza Group.

The PR campaign for Fiesta Atlanta kicked off in January, when the PR team started reaching out to traditional and online media, both English- and Spanish-language, focusing on the family-friendly aspect of the event, which will include performances and a soccer tournament.
