Jewelers Mutual Insurance selects LSB as AOR

MADISON, WI: Jewelers Mutual Insurance, a company that specializes exclusively in jewelery insurance in the US and Canada, has selected Lindsay, Stone & Briggs (LSB) as its AOR. The firm will provide national advertising, PR, and interactive services for Jewelers Personal Lines Insurance program.

Green Star selects Del Mar Corporate Communications

SAN DIEGO: Green Star Alternative Energy has selected Del Mar Corporate Communications (DMCC) for IR and media relations work. One focus of the PR effort will be to raise awareness among European and North American investors in the “green industry.”

Gilberg joins Fox River as MD

CHICAGO: Cheryl Gilberg has joined Fox River Execution Technology as MD of marketing and communications. Gilberg will lead the company’s marketing, communications, and media relations. Previously, she was executive director of marketing at Morgan Stanley responsible for marketing and communications for the institutional equities division. Gilberg has also held senior marketing posts at Citigroup, Lava Trading, SunGard, and Capital Access International. Fox River is an execution technology provider with a product, The Fox, that mimics human trader logic to execute equity orders.

HP division selects Publicis Modem for digital work

PARIS: Hewlett-Packard’s personal systems group (PSG) has selected Publicis Modem, the company’s digital group, to handle communications in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, effective immediately. Publicis’ Saatchi & Saatchi Geneva was also selected for advertising.

Publicis acquires Swiss digital agency Nemos

PARIS: Publicis Groupe has acquired Nemos, a 10-person Zurich-based digital agency specializing in multimedia and flash programming. Pascal Urscheler, former CEO of Nemos, and Marion Marxer, senior brand director of Publicis in Zurich, will co-lead the agency and report to Freddy Collioud, president of Publicis Switzerland. Nemos will be integrated into Publicis Modem Switzerland and aligned with Publicis Modem, the digital branch of the company’s global network.

SGP, Miller & Harrison partner

NEW YORK: StevensGouldPincus and Miller & Harrison, M&A consulting firms for the PR and marketing industries, have formed an alliance. The two firms, which have previously collaborated on M&A opportunities, are partnering to combine their experience in the marketing and communications industries and to speed the pace of transactions. The firms have numerous transactions in progress despite the recession, according to a statement announcing the partnership.

Cision enhances profiles of energy and environmental journalists

CHICAGO: Cision has introduced Premium Energy and Environment Media Profiles, providing expanded details about journalists or influencers in the energy and environmental space. The enhanced profiles include biographical information, filing deadlines, audio interviews, and Twitter handles where available.

Vogel rejoins Sitrick as practice leader

NEW YORK: Tom Vogel rejoined Sitrick and Company as practice leader for capital markets and Latin America, effective April 13. He will focus on media strategy development and crisis communications, with emphasis on financial markets and the Latin American region. These were his focus areas during his previous two-year stint with Sitrick. Vogel left in mid-2006 to work with the investment banking unit of Barclays Capital. He also has more than 20 years experience as a journalist including coverage of credit markets for The Wall Street Journal and spent 12 years living in Peru, Venezuela, and Brazil.

CCG opens San Francisco office, appoints Pavlovich MD

SAN FRANCISCO: CCG Investor Relations’ recently opened a San Francisco office. It appointed Steve Pavlovich, former VP and director of worldwide IR at Hewlett Packard, the MD of the office. After retiring from HP where he was a founding director of HP Finance Co., Pavlovich was a financial, treasury, and IR consultant. The agency has offices around the world including New York; Frankfurt, Germany; Beijing; and Tel Aviv, Israel.

Warburg Pincus hires H&K’s Mackin

NEW YORK: Private equity firm Warburg Pincus has hired Rory Mackin as director of global communications and marketing, beginning April 13. He will report to Kelli Parsons, the organization’s VP in this area. Mackin most recently was VP of the corporate and financial practices at Hill & Knowlton (H&K). At this time, H&K will not be replacing Mackin.
