Pollack PR wins Human Touch

LOS ANGELES: Human Touch has selected the Pollack PR Marketing Group (PPMG) as its AOR, to promote its products, develop brand positioning, and support its efforts at national and international trade shows and conferences. Headquartered in Long Beach, CA, Human Touch manufactures and distributes robotic massage chairs and recliners in the US and globally.

Hallmark channels boost Geisser to SVP

NEW YORK: Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel have promoted former VP, corporate communications Jennifer Geisser to SVP. In her newly expanded role, Geisser will continue to coordinate and lead high-profile client and press events for the network. Additionally, Geisser will work to develop and execute strategic PR campaigns targeting both trade and consumer media, and focus on raising the network’s public affairs profile in Washington. Prior to joining Hallmark, Geisser was SVP, corporate communications at CourtTV.

Greer steps up at New Line Cinema

LOS ANGELES: New Line Cinema has promoted Elissa Greer to EVP of publicity and promotions. In her new role, Greer will oversee theatrical publicity for New Line releases including national and field publicity, special events, photography, and EPK. She will also work with the company’s LA- and New York-based publicity teams to establish publicity initiatives and strategy, as well as explore editorial branding partnerships. In addition, Greer will continue to manage all specialized marketing promotional programming, and serve as the liaison to New Line’s music, international, and interactive departments. Greer had been EVP of publicity and field promotions since 2005.

Entertainment Software Association taps Taylor for comms.

WASHINGTON: The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has named Rich Taylor SVP for communications and research. In his new role, Taylor will be responsible for overseeing strategic communications and public affairs efforts for the ESA, the trade association which represents US computer and video game publishers. Prior to joining the ESA, Taylor served as SVP and head of communications for the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). Before the MPAA, Taylor was a senior associate with Ogilvy PR Worldwide in Washington DC.

Juarez trades Viking for UCLA

MWW names Wadler global healthcare practice leader

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ: MWW Group has appointed Ame Wadler EVP, chief management officer and global healthcare practice leader. Formerly chief strategic officer and global healthcare practice chair at Burson-Marsteller, in her new role, Wadler will work closely with MWW Group senior management to lead the strategic direction of the agency and develop its global healthcare practice. Wadler brings 25 years of healthcare communications, pharmaceutical marketing, and issues management expertise to the MWW Group. Prior to Burson, Wadler held roles of increasing responsibility at Edelman and Hill & Knowlton.

Carruthers rises to govt. affairs lead at Alaska Air Group

SEATTLE: Alaska Air Group, the parent company of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, has named Ginny Carruthers director of government affairs. In her new role, Carruthers will lead federal affairs activities from the company’s Washington DC office. A 20-year Alaska employee, Carruthers most recently served as East Coast regional sales manager for the Seattle-based airline. Prior to joining Alaska, Carruthers worked for Eastern Airlines in its PR and military airlift command divisions.

Sawchuk Brown adds Albany Pro Musica

ALBANY, NY: Sawchuk Brown Associates has added Albany Pro Musica to its client roster. Among its assignments, the Albany-based agency will provide PR and marketing communications services to further grow the 70-singer choral group’s reputation as a vital part of the Capital Region’s cultural arts scene. Sawchuk Brown will also help promote the region’s High School Choral Festival in March 2008 and the Brahms Requiem in April 2008.

Harrison steps up to president at Fifteen Minutes

LOS ANGELES: Fifteen Minutes has promoted Bill Harrison to president and COO. Howard Bragman, who founded the firm in 2005, will assume the title of chairman and CEO. In his newly heightened role, Harrison will continue to head the agency’s corporate entertainment division, as well as add overall management responsibilities. He will also work with Bragman on new business development and long-term planning. Prior to joining LA-based Fifteen Minutes, Harrison held positions at boutique talent agency Paradigm, and PR firms PMK/HBH and Zukerman Communications.

Commonground launches sports and entertainment spin-off

CHICAGO: Commonground Marketing has launched Commonground Sports & Entertainment (CGSE), a full-service PR and marketing agency dedicated to handling PR planning and execution, media training, crisis management, corporate partnership facilitation, image consulting, issues monitoring, strategic planning, and integrated marketing around the sports and entertainment business. The new, Chicago-based firm will be led by managing partner Carla V. Oglesby.
