Ogilvy promotes Reihl to NY consumer group director

NEW YORK: Ogilvy PR Worldwide appointed Bill Reihl, EVP and group director of the New York consumer marketing practice. In this position, Reihl’s responsibilities will include oversight of the group and new business development. He will also add to strategic and creative development across practices. Previously, Reihl served as EVP in strategy and planning in the Atlanta office.

Martin joins George Washington University staff

WASHINGTON: George Washington University announced on April 14 that Tom Martin joined the adjunct faculty, effective immediately. Martin, most recently the executive-in-residence at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, will teach ethics in corporate and political communications courses during the fall 2009 semester. Martin, formerly the chief communications officer at FedEx and ITT, will also serve as a guest lecturer.

Marvel Studios hires Finberg as EVP of international marketing

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA: Marvel Studios, the Hollywood subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment, hired Douglas Finberg as EVP of international marketing. Finberg, who previously served as SVP of international marketing for Paramount Pictures, will develop and oversee worldwide marketing campaigns for Marvel films including Iron Man 2 and The Avengers.

Gilberg joins Fox River as MD

CHICAGO: Cheryl Gilberg has joined Fox River Execution Technology as MD of marketing and communications. Gilberg will lead the company’s marketing, communications, and media relations. Previously, she was executive director of marketing at Morgan Stanley responsible for marketing and communications for the institutional equities division. Gilberg has also held senior marketing posts at Citigroup, Lava Trading, SunGard, and Capital Access International. Fox River is an execution technology provider with a product, The Fox, that mimics human trader logic to execute equity orders.

HP division selects Publicis Modem for digital work

PARIS: Hewlett-Packard’s personal systems group (PSG) has selected Publicis Modem, the company’s digital group, to handle communications in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, effective immediately. Publicis’ Saatchi & Saatchi Geneva was also selected for advertising.
