Star Tribune hires Kekst for Chapter 11 filing
MINNEAPOLIS, MN: The Star Tribune Co., operator of the Twin Cities, MN, newspaper of the same name, is reaching out to advertisers, vendors, employees, and consumers to reiterate that the newspaper is still operating after its January 15 Chapter 11 filing. The company placed information for specific interest groups on its Web site and called advertisers and vendors with a message of continuity, said Ben Taylor, SVP of marketing and communications at the Star Tribune Co. “One of the big PR issues here is that when many people see the term ‘bankruptcy,’ they go to the notion of Chapter 7 bankruptcy,” he said. The company hired Kekst & Company for the filing, Taylor said.
