American Red Cross hires Lowe as SVP

WASHINGTON: The American Red Cross tapped Roger Lowe as its SVP of communications, effective March 9. Lowe, a former SVP at APCO Worldwide who worked with clients like the US Chamber of Commerce, the Business Roundtable, and Catholic Charities USA, reports to Suzy DeFrancis, chief public affairs officer for the nonprofit organization. He is focusing on expanding the Red Cross’ presence online and with social media networks. Lowe replaced Pat McCrummen who left the nonprofit after eight years to begin building his own PR and public affairs firm, which is in the works as The McCrummen Group.
