Ocwen issues RFP

WEST PALM BEACH, FL: Ocwen Financial Corporation, a service provider to the loan industry, has issued an RFP for a PR firm. The request calls for “a comprehensive public relations plan to improve Ocwen’s image and raise awareness of Ocwen, its success, advocacy programs and accomplishments” with stakeholders including investors, customers, and the media. The RFP’s application deadline is July 20.

Hill & Knowlton partners with SCA

NEW YORK: Hill & Knowlton is partnering with the Student Conservation Association to celebrate SCA’s 50th year anniversary. SCA is a nationwide conservation force of college and high school volunteers who protect and restore America’s parks, forests, and other public lands. H&K will provide strategic counsel, media relations, and brand building support for SCA.

NYC & Co announces two appointments

NEW YORK: New York City’s tourism, marketing, and events organization, NYC & Co, has appointed Christopher Heywood as the new director of international and domestic PR for Travel & Tourism, overseeing global PR efforts. Heywood was previously the manager of corporate communications for LA, the Los Angeles convention and visitors bureau.

Aiko Importers taps FWV

RALEIGH, NC: Aiko Importers, an importer of alcoholic beverages, has hired French/West/Vaughan (FWV) to provide PR counsel and media relations support for the company’s Tree of Life pomegranate wine brand. FWV will also conduct media relations outreach to a wide spectrum of trade and consumer publications within targeted markets.

Deaver, Paster join GWU advisory council

WASHINGTON: Edelman EVP Michael Deaver and WPP EVP Howard Paster have joined the Council of American Politics at George Washington University’s Graduate School in Political Management. Deaver and Paster will be guest lecturers and provide advice on curricula and adjunct faculty for the school’s new graduate program in PR. Deaver was a Reagan administration deputy chief of staff, and Paster is a former chairman of Hill & Knowlton.

Bailey joins Text 100 as SVP

SAN FRANCISCO: David Bailey, former Hewlett Packard internal communications director, has joined Text 100 Public Relations as SVP in North America. Bailey will support corporate communications and advise clients out of the agency’s San Francisco office. Before Hewlett Packard, Bailey held several marketing and communications positions with Sun Microsystems, Applied Communications, Copithorne and Bellows, and Burson-Marsteller.

Mediaedge:cia names Alfred comms head

NEW YORK: Mediaedge:cia, the WPP-owned media planning firm, has promoted Nathalie Alfred to director, corporate communications global. She was formerly a partner, marketing and communications. In her new role, Alfred will report directly to MEC CEO Charles Courtier.

Edelman announces Norwegian partner

STOCKHOLM: Edelman announced its strategic partnership with Norwegian affiliate Dinamo PR. The full-service agency joins the Edelman Nordic Hub, a network of seven PR agencies that service international clients across the Nordics and Baltics, led by Edelman Stockholm. Founded in 1998, Dinamo PR specializes in organizational communication, image and identity building, media relations, brand building, and b-to-b communication.
