Acumentics Research launches

DALLAS: Acumentics Research, a social media and PR measurement and research consultancy, launched on December 18. Acumentics will use a measurement model based on exposure, engagement, influence, and action for social and traditional media measurement, and an approach called the PR Value Cube, to map where social media and PR add value to an organization. Don Bartholomew, who has 20-plus years of measurement and research experience with firms such as MWW Group and GCI Group, will lead the firm.

C&S partners with Visible Technologies

SEATTLE: Concepts & Strategies (C&S), a woman and minority-owned communications PR firm has partnered with Visible Technologies in order to use Visible’s social media measurement, management, and engagement tools to support its communications efforts. C&S specializes in PR strategies for government, political, nonprofit, and corporate organizations.

Vitrue launches Social Media Index

ATLANTA: Vitrue has launched its Social Media Index, a free tool for its clients that uses patent-pending technology that measures a brand’s social media activities. Scores are comprised of information culled from social networking, video sharing, photo sharing, and blogging sites.

Biz360 launches Opinion Insights

SAN MATEO, CA: Biz360 launched Opinion Insights, a monitoring and measurement solution that analyzes consumer opinion gathered from shopping, consumer product, and expert review Web sites. Biz360 collaborated with Christopher Manning, a Stanford professor and authority on natural-language processing, for the service. The system also gathers information based on a number of metrics including customer advocacy trends, key influencers, and competitive gaps.

Staff changes on MS&L’s insight creation team

NEW YORK: Manning Selvage & Lee (MS&L) promoted Holly Jarrell to global director of the insight and research team. She’s now responsible for creating and implementing research practices in key regional offices, and developing processes to make current research accessible to client and new business teams. Previously, Jarrell was SVP, insight creation for North America. She’s been with the firm since 2006.

The firm has also hired Jessica Broome to serve as VP, director of measurement. She will develop and implement measurement techniques for MS&L. Previously, she worked with clients such as GlaxoSmithKline, Unilever and Mattel at Ogilvy PR Worldwide, where she recommended strategic research and measurement initiatives.
