GolinHarris names Devaney EVP

CHICAGO: GolinHarris recently named Sarah Devaney as EVP and group director of the consumer brands practice. Devaney will lead the consumer brand team in Chicago, whose accounts include McDonald’s, BP, and Unilever. Previously, Devaney served as director of global brand PR and corporate communications at Beam Global Spirits & Wine.

GolinHarris hires Brophy as SVP, media relations

CHICAGO: GolinHarris tapped Susan Brophy as SVP of media relations and the agency’s national media director. Brophy, who reports to Gary Rudnick, MD of the Chicago office and the firm’s central region, started in September. It is a new position.

Music trade association taps GolinHarris as AOR

LOS ANGELES: NAMM, a nonprofit international trade association for music merchants, hired GolinHarris as AOR. The agency will oversee PR for the association’s work in music education and advocacy, handle government relations, and work with social and traditional media on behalf of NAMM. Golin’s VP Chris Volk will lead the account out of the agency’s Los Angeles office.

GolinHarris announces public affairs brand

WASHINGTON: GolinHarris launched GolinHarris Public Affairs, the formal brand of the agency’s public affairs practice, on December 16. Lane Bailey, the practice leader, was named president and Susan Corsini, deputy MD of the practice, was tapped as MD for the Washington-based brand. GolinHarris Public Affairs will focus on the combination of digital platforms and traditional public affairs. Bailey noted that the practice had a background in corporate crisis communications and consumer marketing and that the launch of GolinHarris Public Affairs is “very relative to the next Congress and president.”

GolinHarris rehires Erik Reynolds to lead Yahoo account

LOS ANGELES: Erik Reynolds rejoined GolinHarris as VP of the agency’s Los Angeles office, overseeing day-to-day management of the agency’s Yahoo account. Reynolds, who worked for Golin six years ago, most recently was global PR director for Vivendi Games.

GolinHarris promotes Dvorak

ATLANTA: GolinHarris promoted Mark Dvorak from VP to SVP in its Atlanta office. Dvorak will lead the effort behind the economic development portfolio in Atlanta and continue to provide counsel for a variety of the firm’s corporate, government, and association clients.

GolinHarris promotes Farrell to head of global corp comms practice

CHICAGO: GolinHarris promoted Scott Farrell to president of the Chicago-based agency’s new global corporate communications practice, effective December 1. It is a new position. Farrell, formerly the co-MD of the headquarters office and Central region, continues to report to Fred Cook, president and chairman. Gary Rudnick, who shared MD responsibilities with Farrell, was named MD of the Chicago office and central region.

GolinHarris taps Lynn Martenstein to head Miami office

CHICAGO: GolinHarris hired Lynn Martenstein as MD of its Miami office, replacing Lisa Mozloom, who is leaving to spend more time with her family. Martenstein comes to Golin from Royal Caribbean Cruises, where she was VP of corporate communications. She will work to grow the agency’s consumer, healthcare, CSR, and Hispanic communications, and will play a role in advancing the firm’s travel and tourism capabilities. Mozloom had been with Golin for 13 years, the last four of which were spent as MD.

Sony Ericsson selects Burson AOR for North America

NEW YORK: Sony Ericsson (SE) has named Burson-Marsteller its AOR for North America. Burson will be tasked with promoting all of the mobile handset provider’s major product launches, sponsorships, and brand initiatives including CES and the Sony Ericsson Open. Last year, SE selected Burson as its global AOR to centralize its PR function. The company’s former North American AOR was GolinHarris.

Whitehead re-joins Flowers Communications

CHICAGO: Flowers Communications Group (FCG) hired Rashada Whitehead as SVP and MD, effective September 23. In this new position, Whitehead will execute the agency’s business plan, lead fiscal stewardship, oversee strategic counsel, and work on new business development. Whitehead previously worked at FCG, but had spent the past four years at GolinHarris’ Chicago office.
