PRN lays off less than 2% in US as priorities shift
NEW YORK: PR Newswire (PRN) laid off less than 2% of the company’s US headcount of 750 on March 30 as part of a company reorganization, according to Rachel Meranus, VP of PR for the company. She declined to specify which areas or positions were impacted, but said the company is still hiring based on its future business needs, particularly its emphasis on technology development.
“We did eliminate some positions, but we’re replacing them with some that are better suited for what we need to drive business forward,” she said.
Last fall, PRN cut 25 positions as part of larger cuts implemented by its parent company United Business Media (UBM).
