Posted August 1, 2008 * Comments(0)

WASHINGTON: The Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Advisory Committee on Improvements to Financial Reporting (CiFER) has officially submitted its recommendations to Chairman Christopher Cox. The National Investor Relations Institute is among the organizations on the committee. Among the recommendations are the mandate of the XBRL system of electronic financial tagging and guidance on the use of the Web and corporate Web sites for financial disclosure. The SEC has already taken action on the latter recommendation.
