Schenkein to close January 31

DENVER: Schenkein, a 35-year-old agency, will close January 31 because of the economic slowdown, said Christin Crampton Day, principal. Eleven employees will lose their jobs. Day said in a statement: “Given the unprecedented economic slowdown over the past year and the outlook for 2009, winding down our operations is the most responsible course of action.” Past clients include Qwest, Wal-Mart, CIGNA, Western Union, and United Airlines. The firm is based in Denver.
