Jack Horner Communications to close Pittsburgh office, eliminate 11 positions

PHILADELPHIA: Jack Horner Communications will close an office and eliminate 11 positions in Pittsburgh, effective February 27. The firm, which has six employees in Philadelphia, will add as many as four positions to make up for the eliminated ones, said Jack Horner, president and founder. Several employees were offered positions if they relocated to Philadelphia, but none accepted, he added. One employee will stay in Pittsburgh on a contract basis and all accounts will be transferred to the Philadelphia office, he added. “It makes sense in this economy to roll them up,” said Horner. “Looking at the 2009 forecast, we think it’s going to be more challenging, and we need to make tough decisions now.”
